Advanced Infrared Thermography Services

for electrical and mechanical systems

Infrared Thermography Testing

IR is the only diagnostic technology that lets you instantly visualize and verify thermal performance. Nearly everything that uses or transmits power gets hot before it fails. Thermography is critical to maintaining the reliability of your electrical and mechanical systems.

A typical electrical infrared survey can net in savings from $10,000 to $20,000, depending on the number and category of anomalies found. In addition to the direct financial savings, valuable time is saved by incorporating an annual infrared electrical survey into your PM program.

Prevent Downtime with Infrared Thermographic Testing

Control Concepts’ infrared inspection program shows you thermal problems, quantifies them with precise non-contact temperature measurement, and documents them within a report. Finding and fixing a poor electrical connection before a component fails can save you the much greater costs associated with manufacturing downtime, production losses, power outages, fires, and catastrophic failures.

Control Concepts will become an invaluable resource to assure that your equipment uptime is at its optimum and comply with insurance needs.

SURVEY ITEMS

During the electrical infrared survey, our team will generally inspect the following equipment but can provide inspection and imaging on any electrical or mechanical components according to your specification.

  • Switchgear
  • Transformers
  • Service Disconnects
  • Transfer Switches
  • Bus Runs
  • Motors / Pumps / Bearings
  • Lighting / Heating Contactors
  • Motor Control Centers
  • Breaker Panels
  • Starters
  • UPS Equipment
  • Chillers and Rooftop HVAC Equipment
  • VFDs

REPORT

Control Concepts’ electrical infrared reports are concise and to the point, making anomaly locations easy to determine and facilitate repairs. Your report will include: A detailed easy-to-read inspection report including:

  • Complete list of equipment inspected
  • A written narrative of the survey
  • Report form for every anomaly detected during the inspection.

A report sheet accompanies each problem which includes:

  • Digital visible light photograph & color thermogram (infrared) picture
  • Severity category of problem
  • Potential cause of the problem
  • The physical location of the problem
  • Problem area temperatures

REPAIRS

After completion of the infrared inspection, Control Concepts can repair identified problems by either cleaning or replacing components producing excessive heat.
